报告人简介:

Prof. Jang has been working in the field of semiconductor devices and radio-frequency circuits for more than 20 years. He has authored five books and authored/ coauthored more than 290 SCI indexed journals and more than 80 conference papers and 17 US patents. He received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in 1989. He is a full professor at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.


报告摘要:

This talk reviews and designs wide locking range high even-modulus LC-tank injection-locked frequency dividers (ILFDs) with current-reused topologies. The current-reused LC ILFD use two stacked LC sub-ILFDs. The talk discusses the technique to design wide locking range ÷8 LC ILFD. The current-reused ILFD becomes a ÷4 ILFD, when both sub-ILFDs are used ÷2 ILFDs, and it is used as a ÷8 ILFD, when one sub-ILFD is used ÷4 ILFD. The design technique has been successfully demonstrated in a die implemented in a 0.18 μm CMOS process. Both the ÷8 LC ILFD and the ÷4 sub-ILFD have non-overlapped and overlapped locking ranges, which are due to a dual-resonance resonator used in the varactor-free n-core sub-ILFD. Two ÷4 LC ILFDs inherent in the designed circuit are also studied.
